Richard Alston Dance Company
“Alston turns a simple story into a multi-faceted choreographic jewel.… one of the year’s finest new works.” – Observer (U.K.)
“Grace, beauty, and vivid technique colour [Alston’s] choreography…. Here is a wholly enchanting creation.” – Financial Times (U.K.)
One of Britain’s most celebrated contemporary dance companies returns to Peak Performances with its unique brand of profoundly musical, joyous movement. Joined onstage by the superb musicians of Repast Baroque Ensemble and the Shanghai Quartet, Richard Alston Dance Company debuts a new work, Chacony, set to the music of Purcell and Britten; the American premieres of Mazur and Stronghold; and the American premiere of the intensely romantic, “wholly enchanting creation,” An Italian in Madrid.
2 hours, 5 minutes, including two intermissions.
