Poetry Reading by Colette Bryce
A Spring 2017 Programs Sponsored by the Marie Frazee-Baldassarre Professorship
Colette Bryce was born in Derry, in Northern Ireland, in 1970, and grew up at the height of The Troubles in a city that was a site of some of the worst violence.
Her most recent volume, The Whole & Rain-domed Universe, treats that subject subtly and quietly, in stanzaic patterns that are formal and highly original.
Colette's earlier volumes include Self Portrait in the Dark, The Full Indian Rope Trick, and the Heel of Bernadette. She received the Cholmondeley Award for Poetry in 2010. Colette is a beautiful reader of poetry and has twice read at the New York Irish Arts Center's Poetry Fest.
