In the years since Congress passed the Campus Sexual Violence Act and since a 2014 White House task force on sexual assault released a set of recommendations for colleges and universities to better prevent and respond to sexual assault, media coverage of sexual assault on campus has mostly focused on campus investigation and adjudication practices and the experiences of victims and the accused with that process. But why is sexual assault such a prevalent issue on college campuses in the first place?

During Sexual Assault on Campus: What No One's Talking About, nationally-renowned sexuality educators Eva Goldfarb, PhD., and Kurt Conklin, MPH, will be joined by Montclair State University student and sexual assault survivor Rian Show to facilitate the exploration of such issues as:

  • how institutions of higher education typically address the issue of sexual assault
  • how major sexual assault cases play out in the media
  • what issues related to sexual assault are not being acknowledged or addressed by college administrators, by the media, or by society at large
  • what can be done to change the situation for the better

(not recommended for people under 16)
