Please join us on April 24th for our next presentation in the 2016-2017 MBA Executive Speaker Series with our guest speaker, Philip Guido.

Phil Guido is the General Manager for IBM Global Technology Services (GTS) for North America. His responsibilities include strategy development, operational execution, business performance and client satisfaction for the full range of IBM's GTS service offerings. In this capacity, Phil has responsibility for cloud solutions, managed services, and IT Service Delivery; including over 40,000 employees delivering world-class solutions across North America.

Under Phil’s leadership, GTS partners with clients to optimize IBM’s global capabilities and expertise in managing business processes, applications and IT infrastructure.  Leveraging GTS deep analytics capabilities and experience working with many of the world’s most successful businesses, clients reap the rewards of an innovative and collaborative outsourcing partnership. From mobility and security to cloud and storage services, GTS offers a spectrum of IT infrastructure services and a range of flexible delivery options to meet each client’s unique requirements.

In his prior role, Phil was the General Manager, IBM North America, responsible for revenue, profit, and client satisfaction for the full range of IBM's business in the United States and Canada. He was accountable for IBM’s portfolios in consulting, technology services, software, hardware and financing for clients, which together generate roughly 40 percent of IBM’s total annual revenues. Before that, Phil was the IBM General Manager for the U.S. Eastern operations, where he was responsible for the market development, sales and support of all IBM products and services.  

He also held executive positions as the General Manager for the Managed Business Process Services line of business in the Americas for IBM, General Manager for Global Technology Services responsible for the Financial Services client set, General Manager for e-business Hosting Services EMEA, where he led the IBM e-business Hosting Service and the e-business on demand initiative. Phil also held the position of Executive Assistant to former IBM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Louis V. Gerstner.

Phil brings more than 20 years management experience to his current role, including assignments in marketing, sales, and delivery executive positions leading service and management consulting teams, primarily within the Financial Services Industry. He has played an integral role in designing and implementing IBM’s sales and channel management re-engineering programs.

Phil is a member of IBM’s Performance Team and Growth & Transformation Team, comprised of the company’s most senior executive leaders. He also served as Chairman for the Employee Charitable Contribution Campaign delivering over $8.75M for local charities.

Phil holds an Economics degree from Montclair State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Kappa Phi. He earned his Business Certificate for International Business from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1994, through a joint IBM-Harvard University Program, Phil earned IBM’s top certification given to sales executives. He also is a member of The David Rockefeller Fellows Program.
