Reel Montclair, the film conversation series created by the Film Institute at Montclair State, has partnered with the Writer’s Guild of America, East to present Dialogue with the Screenwriter.

Dialogue with a Screenwriter is a monthly, in-depth discussion series, that will feature some of the most fascinating writers working in film and TV today, from award winning, seasoned scribes to new, emerging voices in cinematic storytelling. All dates for the discussion series are FREE and open to the public.

As HBO’s new prestige drama, The Deuce premieres this Fall, join us for an intriguing, in-depth conversation with its award winning writer and Executive Producer, George Pelecanos.

Pelecanos, an acclaimed novelist, was a producer, writer, and story editor for the HBO dramatic series, The Wire, winner of the Peabody Award, the AFI Award, and the Edgar, and he was nominated for an Emmy for his writing on that show.  He was a writer and co-producer on the World War II miniseries The Pacific, produced by Steven Spielberg, and worked as a writer and Executive Producer on the HBO series Treme.  Pelecanos has also published 20 novels set in and around Washington, D.C. and has been called "the poet laureate of the D.C. crime world," by Esquire Magazine.

Dialogue with a Screenwriter will be held in the new School of Communication and Media's 197-seat Presentation Hall.
