Second Annual Summit on Science Enablement for the SDGs: The Symposium

The New York Academy of Sciences, with encouragement from the UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the support of the UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed, presents the Second Annual Summit on Science Enablement for the Sustainable Development Goals to explore how science and technology can help strategically advance the delivery of the 2030 Agenda.

The Summit provides an opportunity to showcase the work of the Academy's partners along their SDG journey and get perspectives from the UN and civil society on the progress of science, technology, and innovation in achieving the SDGs.  Sessions will cover key emerging topics such as:

  • Systems thinking in the SDG context
  • Critical issues in data, identity, and privacy
  • Science-based targets for the SDGs
  • Linking research to impact   

Also included are updates on the cross-cutting themes of the Summit including People in Crisis, Early Childhood Development, Sustainable Consumption and Production, Urbanization, and Food Security and Nutrition.
