The Center for Sports Communication and Media Presents: Sport and Activism - A Discussion with ESPN’s Jeremy Schaap
One of the sports world’s most distinguished sports journalists, Jeremy Schaap is a preeminent voice on the intersection of sport and social issues. Schaap, who has been with ESPN since 1994, is an eight-time Emmy Award-winner, co-host of the weekly E:60 on Sunday mornings and contributor to ESPN’s other studio shows, including Outside the Lines and SportsCenter. Additionally, Schaap is the host of the award-winning weekly radio show and podcast The Sporting Life. He is also author of Cinderella Man: James J. Braddock, Max Baer and the Greatest Upset in Boxing History, a New York Times bestseller, and Triumph: The Untold Story of Jesse Owens and Hitler’s Olympics.
Dr. Keith Strudler, director of the University’s School of Communication and Media, will host the discussion on the place of activism in sport, the inaugural event hosted by the School's new Center for Sports Communication and Media.
