Rick Wolff, the long-time host of WFAN’s “Sports Edge” and a pioneer in the complex world of sports parenting, will moderate an expert panel examining the powerful impact of social media on young athletes in “The Post Game: How Social Media Helps and Hurts You” at Montclair State University’s School of Communication and Media.

The town hall-style event, which is free of charge and open to the public, is presented by Investors Foundation in association with the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) and MSU’s School of Communication and Media (SCM).

Wolff, whose popular Sunday morning program is now in its 21st year on WFAN Sports Radio, will be joined by:

*            Roman Oben, a former 12-year NFL offensive lineman who was a Super Bowl XXXVI champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and is currently the NFL's Vice President of Strategy for Youth and High School Football

*            Courtney Cunningham, the associate head coach of Montclair State women's nationally ranked basketball team and director of academic advising in MSU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences

*            Vito Chiaravalotti, the athletic director of Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ, and former baseball star at the University of Richmond who also played in the Toronto Blue Jays organization

*            Doug Abrams, a law professor at the University of Missouri and nationally renowned expert on youth sports, and formerly a top goaltender for the Wesleyan University ice hockey team

Without question, social media is ingrained in our lives. It’s an ever-growing and important tool in sports, whether it's pros trying to create a brand or student-athletes looking to enhance their profile. “The Post Game” will take a deep dive into the evolving issues of social media usage, in particular its benefits and detriments for young athletes.
