Sprague Library The College of Humanities and Social Sciences, The Department of Justice Studies, and The Department of Religion cordially invites you to a talk in its lecture series:

Guest Speaker
Dr. Yasir Ibrahim
Associate Professor of Religion

Dr.Yasir Ibrahim will deliver a lecture that engages an article written by Dr. Scott Siraj al- Haqq Kulge titled, “Sexual Diversity in Islam: Is There Room in Islam for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Muslims?” (2011). Kugle argues that both the Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad acknowledge sexual diversity and that there is no scriptural basis for the persecution and punishment of gays and lesbians in Islamic countries.
