Student passivity in class is a perennial problem, particularly in large classes that include 5-6 students who are happy to carry the conversation for the whole class, leaving 75% of students silent or nearly so. Are they engaged? Are they learning? In this workshop we will demonstrate and share writing-to-learn strategies that work in any discipline, furthering real thinking.
