Sports Squirts

Sports Squirts is a great way to introduce your child to exciting sports games. All of our programs listed below take place in safe, structured environments, where core components of the game are taught through a series of games and activities designed to capture the imagination of all players. Squirts will learn each game in a fun, positive and supportive environment. Age appropriate equipment will be provided, but players may bring their own equipment.

Soccer – Parent & Me Squirts (Ages 2-3)

 

Parent & Me Soccer Squirts is a fun and positive introduction to soccer for young children with a helping hand from Mom or Dad! With a parent participating by their side, kids will have fun learning the fundamental skills of soccer through structured activities, fun based games and scrimmages.

Soccer Parent & Me Squirts Schedule

Soccer – Squirts (Ages 3-5)

 

Soccer Squirts is your child’s perfect introduction to the most popular sport in the world! Skills covered include dribbling, passing, shooting, stealing and more. Each session is taught through structured activities, fun games and scrimmages designed to ensure learning and most importantly: fun, fun, fun!

Soccer Squirts Schedule

Soccer – Senior Squirts (Ages 5-6)

 

Players learn the principles of attacking, defending and passing and will be encouraged to apply these skills to game scenarios. All Senior Squirts curriculum creates an environment which allows players to develop and progress within the sport.

T-Ball Squirts

 

Open to both boys and girls, there’s no better introduction to the sport of baseball or softball! Skills covered include hitting, throwing, catching, base running, fielding and more. Each session is taught through structured activities, fun games and scrimmages designed to ensure learning and most importantly: fun, fun, fun!

T-Ball Senior Squirts (Ages 5 – 6)

 

A great way to introduce your young slugger to this exciting game. Players will focus on learning the rules and developing their skills in hitting, throwing, base running and fielding. Each session players will apply what they have learned into a T-Ball scrimmage. (Please note participants are required to provide their own glove for this program.)

Multi Sports Parents & Me Schedule

Multi Sports – Squirts (Ages 3 – 5)

 

The Squirts Multi Sports program allows children to experience a different sport in each session of the program. It is the perfect introduction to athletics for your future sports star! Each session begins with a brief introduction to the day’s sport and equipment before jumping into the first skill-acquisition activity. In addition to emphasizing the fundamentals of each sport, each activity is designed to improve hand-eye coordination, balance, agility and movement. Each session finishes with an exciting game-related activity or scrimmage. All sports are taught in a safe, structured and fun learning environment designed to ensure learning and most importantly: fun, fun, fun!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What sports are included in the Sports Squirts Camp?
A: Soccer, T-Ball, Basketball, Floor Hockey and Parachute Games!

Q: Do I have to sign my child up for all four weeks or can I do just one?
A: No, you don’t have to sign up for all four weeks. You can do all four or just one camp. They are set up as separate weeks to maintain flexibility.

Q: Is registration available online?
A: Yes! Please visit MSU Active Network to register online using a credit card. The process is easy and takes only a few minutes.

Q: Can I stay and watch my child play?
A: Yes, parents are welcome to stay through the classes, but please be aware that parking is not free and you will be responsible for any parking costs.

Q: Where can I park my car?
A: There are metered spaces located outside the building in Lot 20A. Meters can be paid by the half hour or hour rate.

Q: When will I get to meet the coaches?
A: You will meet your child’s coaches the first day of the week.

Q: What steps are taken to ensure my child’s safety?
A: Campers will be signed in and out of camp every day by the camp coordinator. Please be notified that camp coordinators must be aware of who is collecting your child at the end of the day. Children will be supervised at all times throughout the program.
