The Indoor Triathlon allows participants to compete in all three legs of a traditional triathlon, but with a twist. Each of the legs is based on time rather than distance. So instead of competing for the fastest time on each leg of the event, you compete for the most distance in the same amount of time as everyone else. Each person is assigned a lane, bike and treadmill on which to compete.
- Swim: 10 minutes
- Transition: 15 minutes
- Bike: 30 minutes
- Transition: 5 minutes
- Run: 15 minutes
Each heat has eight participants, starting at 8 a.m. Heats go off every 55 minutes throughout the morning. We will email the participants leading up to the event for the specific time they have to compete. Warm-ups are allowed in the pool before each heat.
Every participant is given a t-shirt as part of the competition.
Prizes are awarded in Men’s and Women’s divisions, in the following categories:
- Top Finisher Overall
- Top Swim
- Top Bike
- Top Run
Pre-registration is required in order to assign specific lanes and heats. Register in the Student Recreation Center Main Office or over the phone 973-655-3340.
