Group Exercise Schedule

New Incentive Program!
  • This semester Group Exercise will be raffling off a number of prizes according to three categories based on the times of the class.
  • These are:
    • Early Risers (swiping in to attend classes before 11 a.m.)
    • Midday Exerciser (swiping in to attend classes between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
    • Evening & Night Owls (swiping in for classes from 4 p.m. and later)
  • The prizes include:
    • Yeti tumblers
    • Self-care packages
    • Fitness watches
    • Fitness bundles (including duffle bags, foam rollers, shaker bottles)
    • AirPods
    • Meal prep and storage kits and many more!
  • Since the prizes will be raffled off throughout the semester and regularly, ask your instructor what the current and upcoming prizes will be.  A grand prize will be raffled off at the end of the semester to ALL participants so the more classes attended, the more entries into the raffle!
  • These raffles will continue throughout the entire semester so be sure to drop in for a class or two!!

Covid-19 Guidelines
  • Students/Faculty/Staff must check in with Hawk Check.
  • If not fully vaccinated you must show proof of a University exemption and a COVID negative test done at the University testing center within 24 hours.
  • Alumni members must show proof of their COVID-19 vaccination to purchase a membership.
  • While visiting the Recreation Center EVERYONE will be required to have completed the Hawk Check, wear a face-covering, and adhere to social distance requirements at all times.
  • Only individuals swiping their Montclair State University ID will be allowed to enter the facility.
  • Face coverings are required in all exercise classes.
  • Any necessary equipment for classes will be already set up in your workout grid. You are more than welcome to bring your own equipment (such as yoga mats). All equipment will be disinfected thoroughly before and after each use.
  • Please bring water and a towel with you. There will be no water fountains available for use and limited access to bottle filling stations inside the SRC.
  • Outdoor classes are subject to a range of weather and environmental conditions. We will closely monitor weather forecasts each day and communicate through Social Media and the Campus Recreation app for any updates to classes. Begin exercising at an easy, comfortable level before increasing intensity as outdoor conditions can affect your body’s response to exercise differently than indoors.
  • For your safety and for the safety of others, classes begin promptly at the start time and no late arrivals will be permitted.

Monday

All Level Yoga

Yoga is a practice for the mind, body, and spirit. In this Vinyasa Flow class, students will move through a variety of seated and standing poses, connecting with their breath. Students will engage in strengthening, flexibility, and mindfulness–with options for all levels of experience.

Cycling

Ready for a more authentic, more intense and less-stationary, indoor cycling class? The RealRyder is unlike any other bike because it moves with you, utilizing more muscle groups, burning more calories, and giving you a more authentic cycling experience than any stationary bike can. You won’t just feel the ride in your legs and lungs – you’ll feel it in your arms and core too.

A time to restore and find calm. In this gentle class, students will be guided through light movement, lengthening poses, and meditative practices. This class will include postures for releasing tension and improving sleep–and time for mindful relaxation.

Advanced Yoga

Don’t let the title intimidate you, advanced yoga is a class where students can take their practice to the next level through a series of stepping stone progressions and practicing more difficult poses in a safe and encouraging environment, all while building strength and stamina to master those poses.

Beginner/Intermediate Yoga Strengthening

For new prospective students looking to start practicing yoga and gain strength to eventually learn more difficult poses. This class will help you move through foundational poses and become a stronger individual.
