Sign into Your Hire a Red Hawk Account

As a current student, an account has already been generated for you!  Sign into your Hire a Red Hawk account via NEST by entering your NetID and password.

Upload My Resume

You must upload a resume in order to apply for jobs and internships through Hire a Red Hawk. As a current student, you are required to submit your resume for review and approval by your assigned Career Services Director. Once approved, you will be able to apply for jobs and internships in the system.

Upload Your Resume and Other Documents

  1. Once in your Hire a Red Hawk account, click Upload Resume and Documents on the left-hand navigation and choose My Documents from the drop-down menu.
  2. Click Add New.
  3. Follow the prompts to upload your document and click Submit.
  4. Your uploaded resume will appear in the Pending Documents tab until approved by your assigned Career Services office.  The review process will take 3-5 business days.

Participate in Mock Interviews

Mock Interviews in Hire a Red Hawk is a free, online tool designed to help improve your interview technique and build your confidence. This feature allows you to video-record your answers and submit the recordings for feedback.

Access Mock Interviews

  • Click Resources on the left-hand navigation. Then, click Mock Interviews from the drop-down menu.
    • Or, click Mock Interviews from the quick links on the right-hand side of your homepage.
  • You can either take a recommended interview or Create New Mock Interview on your own.
  • Mock Interviews require Adobe Flash as well as audio/video

Take a Recommended Interview

  1. Under the Recommended Interview tab, scroll through the suggested interviews based on your program of study or experience level.  You can also use the search bar to find interviews using keywords.
  2. Click Record New Attempt
  3. Follow the prompts to either the practice questions or start the interview.
  4. Once you’ve completed the interview, you can share it or request feedback from a counselor or professor.

Create New Mock Interview

  1. Click Resources > Mock Interviews > My Mock Interviews 
  2. Select Create New Mock Interview
  3. Either copy questions from an existing interview or label your new set of interview questions.
  4. Search and select questions from the listed categories. Once you’ve added in your questions, click Save and Continue.
  5. Once your mock interview has been built, you can immediately begin or take the interview at a later time.

Request Career Counseling Appointment

Requesting a career counseling appointment with your assigned Career Services staff is easy! Just follow the steps below.
  1. Once signed into your Hire a Red Hawk account, click “Request a Counseling Appointment” on the right-hand side of your homepage.
  2. Choose your filters, including:
    • Counseling Type
    • Date/Time
    • Counselor (only your assigned counselor will be shown)
    • Day(s) of the Week
  3. “Check Availability” and choose an appointment time that works for your schedule.
  4. A pop-up window will appear allowing you to confirm the details of your appointment, upload a document/resume and send additional notes to your counselor.  Click “Submit Request” if the appointment details are correct.

Cancel or Reschedule an Appointment

For your convenience, you may cancel or reschedule an appointment directly through your Hire a Red Hawk account. Cancellations will be accepted up to one hour prior to your scheduled appointment.

  1. Once signed into your Hire a Red Hawk account, click “Counseling Appt” under the “Calendar” tab on the left-hand navigation.
  2. Under your “Approved Appointments”, click the drop-down symbol under the appointment length.
    • Cancel: Select a reason for canceling your appointment and write a note to your counselor.
    • Reschedule: Adjust the filters on the appointment request page to find an appointment time that works with your schedule.

Search for Jobs and Internships

Jobs & Co-ops/Internships Quick Links

  1. Once signed into your Hire a Red Hawk account, find the Jobs & Co-ops/Internships quick links on the right-hand side.
    • Click Search Jobs (all jobs) to explore full-time, part-time, and on-campus jobs
    • Click Search for Jobs for Which I Qualify to explore all job postings where your qualifications (major, GPA, etc.) meet the screening criteria selected by the employer.
    • Click Search for Co-ops/Internships to explore all co-ops/internships posted in the system.*

Please Note: To be eligible to apply for co-ops/internships, you must maintain a 2.0 GPA minimum and have at least 30 credits completed.

Jobs & Co-ops/Internships Advanced Search

  1. Once signed into your Hire a Red Hawk account, find the Jobs tab on the left hand navigation and choose Discover from the drop down menu.
  2. All position types will be housed in this section.
    • Scroll down the page to see jobs that are recommended based on major, trending jobs, latest jobs.
    • You can use the search bar to find jobs by title, company, industry and more!
    • You can use the location search bar and radius drop down to find jobs by location.
  3. Advance your job search by clicking See All Jobs under the search button.
  4. You can apply additional filters for your job search.

  • Industry
  • Job Function
  • More!

Create Job Alerts

You can save a search to be notified when new jobs or internships are posted that fit your search criteria.

  1. Once you set your advanced search filters, click the Create Job Alert button.
  2. Click the Job Alert link under the Search button delete or set the frequency of the alert.
Apply for Jobs and Internships

Screening Criteria

When you search for jobs, you will see if you qualify for the position. If you do not qualify, there will be a notification next to the position in your search.

To understand why you do not qualify for the position, click into the posting and view the screening criteria on the right-hand side. You will not be able to apply for positions in which you do not qualify.

Before Applying

You must upload a resume in order to apply for jobs and internships through Hire a Red Hawk. As a current student, your resume must be reviewed and approved by your assigned Director of Career Services. Once approved, you will be able to apply for jobs and internships in the system.

When you find a position of interest, click into the posting to learn more about the role.  You can apply directly through Hire a Red Hawk with your approved resume, by simply clicking Apply.

Apply for and Schedule On-Campus Interviews

Each year, employers come to campus to hold interviews for open full-time and internship positions.  On-campus interviews (OCI) are open to students and alumni who have an active Hire a Red Hawk account. Applications for OCI and the interview selection are all processed through Hire a Red Hawk.

Search and Apply for OCI Positions

  1. Once signed into your Hire a Red Hawk account, find the Interviews quick links on the right-hand side.
  2. Click Campus Interviews for which I Qualify to search and apply for all upcoming OCI positions.
  3. Click Scheduled Campus Interviews to review all upcoming scheduled interviews.

Schedule an On-Campus Interview

Once selected by the employer for an OCI, you will receive an email notification asking you to set up an interview time.  The scheduling process will take place in Hire a Red Hawk.

  1. Once signed into your Hire a Red Hawk account, find the Interviews section link on the left-hand navigation.
  2. Under Requested Interviews, you will see all of the OCI positions for which you have applied.
    • If selected, the position will say Invited with three vertical dots.  Click the three vertical dots and choose Schedule Interview.

RSVP to Upcoming Events

Career Fair Quick Links

  1. Once signed into your Hire a Red Hawk account, find the Attend Events quick links on the right-hand side.
    • Any upcoming career fairs will be shown in this box. To view an event in more detail and RSVP, simply click the event title.*

Please Note: The Attend Events quick links box will not appear on your homepage if there are no upcoming career fairs.

Career Events Advanced Search and RSVP

  1. Once signed into your Hire a Red Hawk account, find the Events tab on the left hand navigation.
  2. Choose the event type you are interested in attending (Career Fairs, Information Sessions, Workshops).
  3. Once your event type is selected, you will see all upcoming events that meet your search criteria.
  4. Click into the event title to learn more about the event and RSVP. Or, simply RSVP to each event of interest in your search result.

Complete Profile

Your Hire a Red Hawk Profile

Your Hire a Red Hawk profile is similar to your LinkedIn account. You can update your profile to include information on your education, experience, projects, skills, etc. You can also “publish” your profile to be included in search results when employers look for qualified candidates to fill their open positions!

To update your profile, follow the steps below.

  1. Once signed into your Hire a Red Hawk account, click on Profile in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Update each section (optional: include a photo and cover photo). Remember, employers can view your profile, so keep all pictures and information professional!
  3. Once you are ready to share your profile, slide the Publish button to on.

Update Your Hire a Red Hawk Account & Privacy Settings

In addition to updating your profile, you can also make view and edit to your Personal, Academic and Privacy tabs in your account.

To view and edit your account settings, follow the steps below.

  1. Once signed into your Hire a Red Hawk account, click My Account on the left-hand navigation bar.
  2. Under your Personal tab, you can:
    • Update your employment status.
    • Provide an alternative email and phone number.
    • Update your demographic information (including birthdate, gender, ethnicity, veteran status and more).
  3. Under your Academic tab, you can:
    • Update your work authorization.
    • Choose up to three geographic preferences for job and internship searches.
  4. Under your Privacy tab, you can:
    • Update your notification preferences (email, text message, job blasts, etc.).
    • Choose to be included in resume books.
    • Choose to promote yourself to employers.
    • Synchronize Hire a Red Hawk events with your Google calendar.
