But the weather, she said, will get colder and the winter holidays are approaching.<\/p>\n<p id=\"MJFZFDM4YZBHJMDZROLQ7LB7JE\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">\u201cIf people are still gathering, I think it\u2019s entirely possible, we won\u2019t peak until sometime in February, March,\u201d Dr. Silvera said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"C3EN7HEAV5FCTDRL5IZKCVIM2A\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">Additionally, Dr. Silvera said the number of new cases could get as high as they were in the spring, but more people are likely to survive because the state can identify cases earlier with increased testing and hospitals are now more successful with treatment strategies.<\/p>\n<p id=\"DMCCUYFLRJCXPBCSCXPLC6YJGM\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">The biggest concern, she said, is hospitalization rates.<\/p>\n<p id=\"SKMPGFOHJBFGBCIULFK36IS5GY\" class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\">\u201cIf the number starts to increase, it can put a strain on the state\u2019s healthcare system,\u201d Dr. Silvera said.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/coronavirus\/2020\/11\/njs-second-wave-of-covid-19-outbreak-may-not-peak-until-early-next-year-health-official-says.html\">Read the full, original story at NJ.com<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Stephanie Silvera, Professor in the\u00a0Public Health Department, noted in an article for NJ.com that New Jersey&#8217;s second COVID-19 wave may not peak until early next year.
