The online magazine posts essays about art, science, literature, politics, and philosophy from some of the top writers, thinkers, and scholars around the world.<\/p>\n<p>For the university to fairly serve the interests of an increasingly diverse constituency of stakeholders, it must adjust and broaden the way it views, supports, and rewards the \u201cunconventional\u201d intellectual craftwork that is being done in the service of the public interest by faculty and students. It must recognize that there are many legitimate and critical \u201cways of knowing\u201d that do not fit into the peer review, data driven, positivistic model of scholarship and faculty reward that continues to be used in research institutions across the country.
