Her presentation was entitled &#8220;Establishing Your Personal Brand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Alexandra discussed how one&#8217;s beliefs and actions help define a person in both their personal and professional life. As such, one&#8217;s personal brand is how they promote themselves and their acquired skills, experience, and personality.\u00a0 This presentation discussed key points to help define and maximize personal branding including social media pointers.<\/p>\n<p>The annual Leadership Institute is a half-day conference for all undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and staff. Presentations include impactful practices in Leadership Development and Professional Growth. This year, the Leadership Institute\u2019s keynote featured Motivational Speaker and Author <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bradbutler2.com\/\">Brad Butler II<\/a> presenting on \u201cLegacy Lifestyle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alexandra researches fashion, popular culture, and art history as a PhD student in History &amp; Culture at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drew.edu\">Drew University<\/a> in Madison, NJ, in addition to her role within CEHS. She contributed a chapter on French shoe designer Christian Louboutin in the book Storytelling in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/cchl\/2021\/10\/20\/alexandra-thelin-blackowski-contributes-chapter-to-book-on-storytelling-in-luxury-fashion\"><em>Luxury Fashion: Brands, Visual Cultures, and Technologies<\/em><\/a>. In 2018, she received the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/cchl\/2018\/10\/15\/19076_alexandra-thelin-blackowski-receives-award-from-the-costume-society-of-america\">Jim Liles Student Award from the Costume Society of America<\/a>\u00a0for her research on the connections between author Oscar Wilde and fashion designer Gabrielle Chanel.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alexandra Thelin Blackowski, Web Content Manager for the\u00a0College of Education and Human Services (CEHS), recently presented at the 10th Annual Leadership Institute, hosted by the Center for Leadership and Development.
