This spring, we celebrated three groups of students within the Transformative Education Network: a cohort that earned their master\u2019s degrees in January; another that earned their certification; and another set to begin the journey!<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Transformative Education Network (TEN)<\/span><\/a> at Montclair State University in the College for Education and Engaged Learning prepares, supports, and develops teachers who teach towards antiracism and social justice. TEN houses the Urban Teacher Residency (UTR) and the Newark Teacher Project (NTP), two teacher education programs with a shared mission of advancing racial justice in education, offering critical professional development, and actively creating an expanding network of antiracist educators across our partner districts.<\/span><\/p>\n

College faculty and staff, family, friends, and supporters attended to celebrate the students\u2019 successes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Tanya Maloney<\/a> and Dr. Bree Picower<\/a> are the Co-Directors of the Transformative Education Network.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
