CEISP leads strategic collaborations to enhance learning environments and foster collaborative partnerships across diverse educational landscapes in New Jersey and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/ceel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/271\/2025\/02\/ceel-pic-resized-1024x768.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/profilepages\/view_profile.php?username=davism\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Marilyn Davis<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Director of CEISP, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/profilepages\/view_profile.php?username=haj\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jesse Ha<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Assistant Professor (Department of Teaching and Learning &amp; School of Computing), welcomed the students and their advisor, Professor Dr. Dongwon Lee, to visit two partner districts within <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/center-of-pedagogy\/cooperating-teacher-resource\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Montclair State University Network for Educational Renewal (MSUNER)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.orange.k12.nj.us\/domain\/83\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Orange High School<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cad.rocktwp.net\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Catherine A. Dwyer Elementary School<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (Rockaway Township School District); as well as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/acs.leoniaschools.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anna C. Scott Elementary School<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (Leonia Public Schools).<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_127859\" class=\"responsive-image-holder wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"mlt-responsive-image\" data-original-image=\"\/ceel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/271\/2025\/03\/MSU-CEEL-\u2013-Busan-Students-at-Orange-High-School.jpg\" src=\"\/responsive-media\/cache\/ceel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/271\/2025\/03\/MSU-CEEL-\u2013-Busan-Students-at-Orange-High-School.jpg.0.1x.generic.jpg\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mr. Jason Belton, Principal, welcomed the clinical interns and Professor Dr. Lee to Orange High School.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Jesse Ha spoke of the clinical interns\u2019 visit and the future of partnerships with Busan National University of Education: \u201cThis is the first visit that will lead to the eventual long-term partnership between Busan National University of Education. We envision not only exchanging students and having reciprocal summer programs, but we also see this partnership leading to transfer agreements with many Busan students coming to Montclair to pursue a master&#8217;s degree in education. Moreover, we have already found school districts willing to hire these potential teachers even though they are South Korean citizens through different hiring pathways, thus helping to meet NJ&#8217;s dire need for teachers in the coming decade.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_127846\" class=\"responsive-image-holder wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"mlt-responsive-image\" data-original-image=\"\/ceel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/271\/2025\/02\/MSU-CEEL-\u2013-Busan-Students-at-Leonia-2.jpg\" src=\"\/responsive-media\/cache\/ceel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/271\/2025\/02\/MSU-CEEL-\u2013-Busan-Students-at-Leonia-2.jpg.0.1x.generic.jpg\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ms. Magdalen (Maggie) Neyra, Principal, welcomed Jesse Ha and the clinical interns to Anna C. Scott Elementary School.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students and faculty from partner districts welcomed their visitors to share their South Korean heritage, traditions, educational approaches, and personal stories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Marilyn Davis spoke of CEEL\u2019s plans to collaborate with Busan National University of Education through the new \u201cCollective for English Language and American Culture (CELAC),\u201d bringing 20 teacher education majors from South Korea to Montclair State University for a four-week program every July.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This program will immerse the visiting students in English language training and American cultural studies, further strengthening the international partnership. They will be housed on the nearby <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/bloomfield\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bloomfield College of Montclair State University<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> campus, creating a close-knit community for cultural exchange.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Davis added, \u201cInitiatives like this build educational bridges between the two institutions and exemplify the global mindset necessary to prepare future educators.
