PhD in Counseling Student, Fathiyyah Salaam, Named 2019-2020 Educational Services Professional of the Year

Fathiyyah Salaam, a PhD student in Counseling, was recently named a Governor’s Educator of the Year (GEOY) as a 2019-2020 Educational Services Professional of the Year. Fathiyyah is a School Counselor for the East Orange Public School District in East Orange, New Jersey.

Fathiyyah is recognized as an exceptionally skilled and dedicated educator; inspires students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn; demonstrates leadership and innovation in and outside of the classroom; has the respect and admiration of students, parents, administrators, and colleagues; and plays an active role in the community as well as the school.

Fathiyyah will receive an official Governor’s Educator of the Year state certificate in recognition of her work.
