Why did you choose this field of study?  Why did you choose the program at Montclair State University

I choose this field of study due to my love of the Spanish Culture and language combined with my passion for helping others.  There is no better way to do that than in education!

I chose the education program at Montclair State University due to its reputation and sequential structure. Every step in the program prepares you for the next endeavor, making the process a lot easier to follow.

What are/were the best parts of your program?

The best part of the program was the student teaching experience (Clinical Internship). You are able to use everything you have learned and put it into action while also learning a lot about yourself as a young professional.

What was your favorite class or experience in the program, and why was that so important to you?

My favorite class was READ 411 and the Equity and Diversity course due to the fact that they both prepared me to better educate my students by giving me techniques to create a welcoming and safe learning environment.

How did your program prepare you for your current role?

The Teacher Education Program exposes you to the realities of the teaching field throughout the entire education curriculum. For that reason, when you get into the field you are aware of them and are ready to overcome them!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your program, the College of Education & Human Services, or Montclair State University?

I would like to thank all my advisors, professors, supervisors and mentors. Most importantly, I’d like to thank my students and cooperating teacher at Alexander Hamilton Preparatory Academy because they all helped me become the teacher (young professional) I am today!
