Dr. Stephanie Silvera, Professor in the Public Health Department, told APP.com about risks that are associated with indoor dining and the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to the patrons, the restaurant staff are also exposed to the possibility of infection. She noted,  “For the employees, if you are working an eight-hour shift you can be exposed to hundreds of people in one day and that increases their risk much more,” said Silvera. “You are in an indoor space with potentially hundreds of people who are going to be unmasked, you cannot eat with a mask on.” She said the overall idea of allowing indoor dining includes too many risks and unknowns to make her feel comfortable doing it.
