The COVID-19 pandemic impacted every aspect of our lives. The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) created a document, that allows citizens to look to the future and plan for students to return to schools in-person this fall while recognizing and preparing for the ways the virus and necessary public health response has changed and will change the way students learn.

The Restart and Recovery Plan provides educators and administrators with the information necessary to ensure that our schools reopen safely and are prepared to accommodate students’ unique needs during this unprecedented time.

The NJDOE lists the Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health at Montclair State University as an entity to which they express sincere gratitude for contributions to the report. Under the direction of Dr. Gerry Costa, the center’s input, recommendations, and willingness to collaborate exemplified a unified commitment to supporting all of New Jersey’s school communities as they move forward on the path to recovery.
