Alum David Frazier Appointed as At-Large Member of the National Federation of State High School Associations Board of Directors

David Frazier, a Master’s Degree recipient from the Exercise Science and Physical Education Department, and current Director of Athletics at Rutherford High School in Rutherford, New Jersey, was recently appointed to serve as an at-large member of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Board of Directors for a four-year term. In this position, Frazier will act as a governing board member representing both NFHS Section 1 (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont) and NFHS Section 4 (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin).

The NFHS board conducts general business, interprets the organization’s constitution and bylaws, exercises all powers and duties expressed or implied in the constitution and bylaws, and acts as an administrative board in the interpretation of and final decision on all questions arising from directing NFHS affairs. Elected by the organization’s voting members and state association governing boards, NFHS at-large representatives are typically acting principals, superintendents, or other educational leaders.

Frazier, A former Division-1 All-American Triple Jumper, holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Manhattan College, a Master’s Degree from Montclair State University, and has the designation as a Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).  He served as the NJSIAA Executive Committee President during the 2012-13 school year, and was an NJSIAA Executive Committee member from 2007-2014. He has served on a variety of committees and currently chairs the NJSIAA’s COVID-19 Sports Advisory Task Force, Eligibility Appeals Committee, and the NJSIAA Advisory Committee.
