The College of Education and Human Services recently hosted Faculty Forums, organized by Associate Dean Dr. Yune Tran, to create a safe space for sharing ideas, strategies, and resources with CEHS faculty. The topics centered on an important issue, “Remote Learning and Anti-Racist Pedagogies.”

Both forums were held on September 23 and October 14 and led by Dr. Tanya Maloney (Teaching and Learning), Dr. Emily Hodge (Educational Leadership), Dr. Amanda Baden (Family Science and Human Development), Dr. Danne Davis (Teaching and Learning), and Dr. Brad van Eeden-Moorefield (Family Science and Human Development). Throughout the sessions, faculty engaged in discussions on the success and challenges of remote learning. Facilitators presented ideas for online teaching and different approaches for addressing on anti-racist pedagogies.

Dr. Katrina Bulkley, Chairperson of the Educational Leadership Department, described the forum as “engaging and actually kind of fun. It was really interesting to both learn about concrete strategies for teaching online and to be challenged to think more about what it means to engage in anti-racist practices.”
