Unvaccinated COVID-19 Patients Suffer Most Severe Illness

Dr. Stephanie Silvera, Public Health Professor, spoke to PIX11 News for a story about hospital data showing that unvaccinated COVID patients suffer the most severe illness.

Despite boosters being effective in reducing rates of severe illness, they do not prevent transmission, she stated. She added, “If we think about our prevention as slices of swiss cheese, each one of them has a hole,” she said. “But if you layer one on top of the other, those holes get smaller and smaller.”
