February CEHS Distinction Award Recipients

On February 2, 2022, the College of Education and Human Services college meeting began with the announcement of our Distinction Award Recipients! Our community is dedicated to creating a healthier, better educated, just society and we are grateful to work with so many exceptional employees.

Dr. Michael Hannon, Associate Professor in the Counseling Department, is a counselor educator and scholar. “Mike’s intentionality is clear for keeping equitable practices at our forefront at all times. In all he does for us, he is patient and kind, while working tirelessly to get us all on board.”

The CEHS Technology Department, under the direction of Jason Francis, was also recognized. “Jason raised the bar in demonstrating teamwork, commitment, and work ethic. He (and his team) quickly respond to inquiries and pleas for technical troubleshooting (sometimes even off-work hours). CEHS Tech is incredibly dedicated to the overall success of the college, especially during the ongoing pandemic times.”

Nutrition and Food Studies Lab Supervisor Margaret Reece. The department noted, “Margaret is our hero. Through creativity and perseverance, our labs continue to function. We also appreciate her investigation of CDC guidelines regarding food laboratories during the pandemic and help in establishing department policies for safety standards to reduce COVID risks. We are very fortunate to have Margaret on our team.”

Trish Watson, Department Administrator in the Teaching and Learning Department, also received the award. It was noted, “Trish has gone above and beyond more times than I can count. She has SO much on her plate but manages it all with grace and still makes time to connect with colleagues, express care for others, and prioritizes the well-being and best interest of our students at all times. Trish is an invaluable member of the CEHS community.”

Congratulations!
