Alejandra Kaplan and Jacqueline Bavaro

Students Alejandra Kaplan and Jacqueline Bavaro have been selected as a 2018 Eleventh Annual National Conference on Health Disparities (NCHD) Student Research Forum participant. She will present her poster in Philadelphia, PA during the conference.

The NCHD will take place on May 16 - 19, 2018 with the theme of “The Next Generation of Leaders.” The mission of the conference is to focus on policies, research interventions, and programs that address prevention, social determinants, and personal responsibility in reducing health disparities and promoting health equity.

The Student Research Forum will take place on May 16, 2018 and will encompass a poster session, oral presentations by students, and a luncheon with a keynote address. Also included are round table discussions where students will network and share with each other important information on highly relevant topics such as identifying sources of graduate/professional school funding, finding a research mentor, and developing a personal statement for a graduate/professional school application.

The NCHD and the Student Research Forum are intended to provide Alejandra Kaplan, Jacqueline Bavaro and other students with invaluable skills and networking opportunities. Undergraduate and graduate/professional student poster session presenters will be asked to present a summary of their research findings to judges and other attendees. Prizes will be awarded to the top graduate and undergraduate poster presenters.
