Teacher Education: Prospective Students

Prospective students come to us with all levels of previous academic experiences.  Montclair State University prepares undergraduate students to become educators, provides those who have previously earned degrees with the opportunity to now become certified, and provides a number of opportunities for educators who want to continue their academic journeys.

The Office of Teacher Education Admissions, Recruitment and Diversity seeks to enroll the highest quality teacher education candidates, oversees the admission process for undergraduate applicants to the Teacher Education Program, and is invested in the diversification of our teachers through creative programming and initiatives.

The Graduate School provides oversight of the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program, all post-baccalaureate teaching programs (for those who have already earned a bachelors degree), and additional certification programs.
