It\u2019s an apparent spike following the holidays, just as health officials warned.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/~silveras\">Dr. Stephanie Silvera<\/a>, Professor in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/public-health\">Public Health Department<\/a> noted, &#8220;After Thanksgiving, our numbers peaked at a high of 5,000 new cases per day. We went back down to just under 4,000. Now what we&#8217;re looking at is numbers&#8230;about&#8230;6,500.
