The Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) acted at its June 2015 meeting to accredit MSU\u2019s Master of Public Health (MPH) program.\u00a0 CEPH is an independent agency, directed by a 10-member board, and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit schools of public health and public health programs outside schools of public health.\u00a0 CEPH assists schools and programs in evaluating the quality of their instructional, research and service efforts, over a three year self-study period, and grants accreditation to those schools and programs that meet its published criteria.<\/p>\n
The mission of the Master of Public Health with a concentration in Community Health Education, is to prepare culturally competent professionals in public health, with a strong focus on social justice, consistent with the missions of the University, College, and the Graduate School.\u00a0 The program trains public health practitioners and researchers with the skills for planning, implementing, evaluating and sustaining efforts to enhance population health and eliminate health disparities.\u00a0 The graduate program coordinator is Dr. Lisa Lieberman.
