More information on these topics may be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/center-for-autism-and-early-childhood-mental-health\/guiding-principles\/\">Guiding Principles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Inclusion Offerings<\/h2>\n<p>In accordance with the New Jersey Special Education Administrative Code (6A:14), certified and\/or licensed specialists from the Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health (CAECMH) provide the following services to school districts throughout New Jersey:<\/p>\n<h2>Evaluation of students who may need special education programs and services<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Consultation with school staff and parents, including facilitation of interdisciplinary team meetings and classroom-based embedded consultation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Training of school staff<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Workshops on topics including:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitation of Engagement and Language<\/li>\n<li>Social and Emotional Development<\/li>\n<li>Rethinking Challenging Behaviors<\/li>\n<li>Self-Regulation and Positive Behavior Support<\/li>\n<li>Inclusion and Principles of Universal Design for Learning<\/li>\n<li>Understanding Children Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ongoing reflective practice\/supervision<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Designing, implementing and evaluating techniques addressing academic and behavioral difficulties, including the development of IEP goals that are:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Observable and measureable<\/li>\n<li>Aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS)<\/li>\n<li>Inclusive of the Principles of Universal Design for Learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Related services to students with special needs and their families, including:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Counseling services for students experiencing academic, social\/emotional and\/or behavioral difficulties<\/li>\n<li>Counseling and\/or training services for parents to assist them in understanding the special education and developmental needs of their children<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Preventative and support services to students without identified special needs<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Zippy\u2019s Friends<\/li>\n<li>Circle of Security<\/li>\n<li>Brazelton\u2019s Touchpoints<\/li>\n<li>Participation on intervention and referral services teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information, call 973-655-6685 or email <a href=\"mailto:caecmh@montclair.edu\">caecmh@montclair.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health (CAECMH) at Montclair State University offers school consultation on inclusion practices as well as a variety of related professional development opportunities.
