What We Do

The Center for Leadership and Engagement oversees a variety of experiences and initiatives that span the lifecycle of a student from enrollment to graduation.

We oversee orientation for all incoming freshmen and transfer students; we provide one-on-one support and/or experiences for students who are part of the following populations: Adult students, Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP) students, Veteran students and Senior Citizen students; and we oversee Leadership Development.

Leadership Development recently received a global ranking for the Top Three Educational institutions with a leadership certificate program and gained a LEAD500 Award for the fourth year in a row!

Additionally, our center coordinates unique experiences for identified cohorts of students – this includes a summer bridge program – Red Hawk Advantage, and the recently developed Presidential Scholars for high achieving incoming New Jersey high school graduates. The Center also oversees the Experience Montclair Initiative designed to promote a shared economy of student engagement. This program helps connect experiences for students in an intentional and guided manner.
