{"id":206901,"date":"2021-03-23T09:37:08","date_gmt":"2021-03-23T13:37:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/chemistry-biochemistry\/?p=206901"},"modified":"2021-03-23T10:29:39","modified_gmt":"2021-03-23T14:29:39","slug":"mancini-acs-surf-fellowship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/chemistry-biochemistry\/2021\/03\/23\/mancini-acs-surf-fellowship\/","title":{"rendered":"Student awarded SURF Fellowship from ACS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.organicdivision.org\/student-and-postdoc-awards\/surf\/\" target=\"_blank\">ACS Division of Organic Chemistry Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship<\/a> includes $5000 in funding for summer research, which Kayla will conduct with her mentor <a href=\"\/~sarkara\">Amrita Sarkar<\/a> in the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/msupolymer.weebly.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sarkar Research Group<\/a>. Additionally, she will present her research this fall at the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizer.com\/science\/research-development\/centers\/ct_groton\" target=\"_blank\">Pfizer Research and Development Labs in Groton, Connecticut<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla is thrilled to be working on a novel polymer synthesis project employing ring opening polymerization and microwave induced Diels Alder Cycloaddition under supervision of Professor Sarkar.
