\nThis session will focus broadly on what geographic information systems are, how they can be used, including examples of what they can do, with a focus on the Humanities. \u00a0Moderators will provide specifics on their own particular uses and applications and provide use-case-scenarios from a variety of disciplines. During the second part of this session, moderators will engage attendees in a whole-group conversation about use and application.<\/p>\n

\nThe morning session focused on what GIS can do and provided examples. \u00a0This session will focus on research methods and design. Although the software and discipline may be specific to GIS and Humanities for this session, the takeaways can be applied more generally as well. \u00a0Moderators will provide specifics on their own particular research design and methods. This session will be the best practices for taking textual material and placing it into a spreadsheet (as it is encountered during research) for future (end of project) visualization.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
