{"id":5114,"date":"2020-10-29T16:34:09","date_gmt":"2020-10-29T20:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/chss-digital-media-colab\/?p=5114"},"modified":"2020-11-23T17:04:07","modified_gmt":"2020-11-23T22:04:07","slug":"womens-suffrage-beyond-program-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/chss-digital-media-colab\/2020\/10\/29\/womens-suffrage-beyond-program-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Women&#8217;s Suffrage &amp; Beyond Program Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Name:\u00a0<\/strong>Women&#8217;s Suffrage &amp; Beyond Program Award<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sponsor:\u00a0<\/strong>NJ Council for the Humanities<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amount:\u00a0<\/strong>$500<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important Dates:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Application Available \u2013 Oct 26, 2020<\/li>\n<li>Funding Expended \u2013 Between Nov 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application:<\/strong>\u00a0Click to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/njhumanities.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Final-NJCH-Suffrage-Beyond-Program-Award.pdf\">LEARN MORE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Nonprofit and governmental organizations in New Jersey may apply for a $500 award to <\/em><em>support work to commemorate and interrogate the passage of the 19th Amendment granting <\/em><em>women\u2019s suffrage in 1920 and its legacy one hundred years later.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>Examples of work that can be supported with this funding:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Public events that do not involve gatherings in person, such as webinars or public events taking place on digital platforms like Zoom, Facebook Live, or other streaming platforms.<\/li>\n<li><em>Web-based exhibitions or recorded programs.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Exhibitions, physical or digital.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Reading and discussion programs (including purchase of books or development of <\/em><em>guides).<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Oral histories, video oral histories, or other public history methodologies.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Materials that encourage ongoing engagement with this topic, such as books, <\/em><em>material culture, periodicals, etc. (Organizations such as libraries may want to <\/em><em>expand their collections of books related to the history of the 19th amendment, <\/em><em><em>women in public life, or civic engagement more broadly, for example).<\/em><\/em><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Please note: due to ongoing and constantly evolving coronavirus restrictions, NJCH is <\/em><em>unable to support in-person programs that involve gatherings of people.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Any materials purchased with this funding or any programs that take place with the help of <\/em><em>this funding must be public-facing or contain a significant public component. All work must <\/em><em>be related to the 19th amendment, its history, and its legacy.
