His specialty is American historical archaeology with a focus on inequality, race, and community-based research. He co-director of the \u2018A Long Time Coming\u2019 project in Setauket, New York and the \u2018Reverse Archaeology of Interstate-280 Project\u2019 in Orange, New Jersey.
