Ralph J Torraco Scholarship

Two $1,000 Ralph J. Torraco Scholarships are available to support student participation in the 2013 “Villa of the Antonines” field school in Italy.


The application deadline is April 1, 2013.



Any undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an American college or university program in Classical Archaeology, Classics, Ancient Mediterranean Studies, or Ancient History is eligible. Preference will be given to students who are at an advanced stage of their studies, and who demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career in any of the abovementioned fields.


All applicants who meet the eligibility criteria may be considered for the Ralph J. Torraco Scholarship. Those who wish to be considered should:

  • have completed the enrollment application form for the program and the interview with the directors of the program;
  • send a detailed Curriculum Vitae;
  • ask their recommenders to support in their letters their application for the scholarship.

Merit will be the primary criterion, but need will also be considered.
