METROPOLITAN OPERA TRIP (November 2014)

Presentation on Il Barbiere di Siviglia opera by Dr. Laura Dolp (Nov. 19th, 2014) -
Dr. Laura Dolp from the Cali School of Music at MSU gave an informative presentation about Rossini's opera, a feast of vocal "athleticism," as she put it. This presentation gave the students a nice set up as to what they were going to experience, many for the first time, at the Metropolitan Opera House.

Met Opera Trip: Il Barbiere di Siviglia in NYC (Nov. 22nd, 2014)- Ten interested students had the privilege of attending an opera show at the Metropolitan Opera House. Transportation from campus to NYC and back was provided, as were the ten free tickets (courtesy of the Inserra Chair in Italian and Italian American Studies). The students enjoyed a relaxed day in the city and experienced this first-rate  production of Rossini's lively opera with much enthusiasm.
