Enza Antenos, assistant professor in the Department of Spanish and Italian, just launched a column in the online paper La Voce di New York, with the same biweekly article being published in both Italian and English. She discusses Italian language and culture in the tri-state area, as well as opportunities for students and the role of Italian in the job market. Her recent pieces include: Italian: A Major, Plus and Mouthwatering Photos at Eatly.
The Italian Program at Montclair State has long collaborated with La Voce. Two years ago, for example, students created video articles and wrote pieces in both Italian and English for key "Made in Italy" sectors (art, design, fashion and food) as part of the Business Italian Style project.
Antenos' research interests and recent publications include teacher development and training (she is symposium chair of the annual symposium series Teaching Italian, now in its 9th year), and the integration of technology to teaching and learning foreign languages and cultures. She has pioneered numerous investigations in learning managements systems and the personal web, mobile-assisted language learning, and social media. Forthcoming is an opening chapter in the NEMLA publication "The Italian Digital Classroom: Italian Culture and Literature through digital tools and social media."
