Montclair State alumna Kristen Bryfogle ’16, who received her B.A. as a double-major in English and Classics and as a member of the university’s prestigious Honors Program, has been selected a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship, widely regarded as the oldest and most prestigious post-graduate scholarship in the world.

In her time at Montclair State, among her many achievements, Bryfogle served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Montclarion and received the College of Humanities and Social Sciences Outstanding Academic Achievement and Service Award, the highest academic award given by the College at the time of graduation.

Bryfogle currently works as a Latin teacher at the Trenton STEM-to-Civics Charter School. Her finalist interview for the Rhodes Scholarship will take place November 18 to 19, in Manhattan.

The Rhodes Scholarship provides funding to enable students to pursue further study at the University of Oxford in the subject of their choosing. They will have all of their tuition and fees covered for the duration of the scholarship.
