Professor Robbins\u2019s first two collections, <em>Alien\u00a0vs. Predator<\/em> and <em>The Second Sex<\/em>, were each published to widespread acclaim.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times has praised Robbins\u2019s poetry for its\u00a0\u201csky-blue originality of utterance\u201d and <em>N+1<\/em> has described his work as having \u201cperfect\u00a0a style at once immediately recognizable, socially resonant, and impossible to imitate.\u201d Professor Robinson has\u00a0published poems and essays in such notable periodicals as <em>The New Yorker, Poetry<\/em>, <em>The Paris Review<\/em>, and <em>The Nation<\/em>\u00a0as well as a book of essays, <em>Equipment for Living: On Poetry and Pop Music<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Robbins, professor in the English Department will have his third poetry collection, Walkman, published by Penguin Books in June 2021 under the Penguin Poets imprint.
