Fatma Mili, PhD, has been named interim dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Montclair State University, effective July 1, 2025.<\/p>\n
Mili will serve as the lead academic and administrative officer for the College, which offers a wide range of programs in the liberal arts such as Psychology, English, Political Science and Law, History, Philosophy, and Child Advocacy.<\/p>\n
An experienced educator and academic leader, Mili comes to Montclair from Grand Valley State University, where she served as Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. There, she co-led a university-wide initiative to restructure advising and strengthen and integrate all student care and student success services, and spearheaded the restructuring of the College of Engineering and Computing creating two colleges, one for engineering and one for computing.<\/p>\n
Prior leadership positions include serving as Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and as a professor, Department Chair and Associate Dean at Purdue University.<\/p>\n

Her commitment to and track record in enhancing the student experience for their success is noteworthy. I truly look forward to working with her.\u201d<\/p>\n
A firm believer in the importance of the liberal arts, Mili is looking forward to joining Montclair and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.<\/p>\n

Mili holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France.<\/p>\n
