In February 2022, a New York Bight lease auction by BOEM brought in a record-breaking $4.37 billion from six US offshore renewable energy groups. In New Jersey, Governor Murphy expanded the state\u2019s offshore wind goal by nearly 50 percent to 11,000 megawatts (MW) by 2040 and also directed the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to study the feasibility of increasing the target further. On March 24, 2022 the governors of New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut announced their partnership to propose a regional clean hydrogen hub in consortium with several hydrogen ecosystem supply chain affiliates.
