Who should attend the The Graduate School Commencement ceremony on January 17, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at NJPAC?
This Graduate School ceremony is for all master’s and doctoral students who will have completed their graduation requirements in August 2019, December 2019 or January 2020.
I think I may be able to graduate in January 2020. What do I need to do?

Will the Commencement ceremony be live streamed?
Yes, the Commencement ceremony will be webcast. Please visit montclair.edu/webcast on the day of Commencement to view the event.
What is the difference between Graduation and Commencement?
Graduation and Commencement are frequently confused terms.
To graduate, a student must complete all undergraduate degree or graduate program requirements, apply for graduation through their Final Audit and be certified by the Registrar’s Office for graduation. A student can complete all requirements and graduate in August, January or May, depending upon when certified by the Registrar’s Office.
Commencement is the symbolic ceremony that marks the closing of your academic career where you receive commendation for your graduation. It is an opportunity for you, your family, friends and the Montclair State University community to celebrate your achievement.
