GRE scores:\n<ul>\n<li>Verbal scores of 149 or higher.*<\/li>\n<li>Quantitative scores of 151 or higher.*<\/li>\n<li>Writing scores of 3.5 or higher.*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">TOEFL or IELTS scores if necessary; A passing score of 83 of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). (Note that in order to meet ASHA standards for English proficiency, you will also need a score of 26 on the spoken section).\u00a0 AND a score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). (Note that in order to meet ASHA standards for English proficiency, you will also need a score of 7 on the spoken section).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Three (3) letters of recommendation, including at least two (2) from professional colleagues or\u00a0 college\/university faculty who can attest to the candidate\u2019s potential for advanced study and\u00a0 research.<\/li>\n<li>Review and determine if you meet the requirements specified in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/communication-sciences-and-disorders\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/199\/2019\/03\/Eligibility-Requirements-and-Essential-Functions-updated-for-MSU-2011.pdf\">Eligibility Requirements and Essential Functions Document<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Review the policy on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/communication-sciences-and-disorders\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/199\/2025\/11\/Form-B-AuD_Background-Check-Information-1-1.pdf\">Background Checks<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Pre-requisites<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>An undergraduate degree in speech-language pathology and audiology (SLPA) or a degree in communications sciences and disorders (CSD) is\u00a0<strong>not\u00a0<\/strong>required for admission to the AuD program. The curriculum is rich and provides opportunities to develop all of the knowledge and skills needed to practice as an audiologist.<\/p>\n<p>However, if you do not have an undergraduate degree in this field you may be required to add one or more courses to your program to meet licensing requirements in some states and to be recognized as eligible for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A).<\/p>\n<p>Additional courses required for those applicants who do not have an undergraduate degree in SLPA or CSD. Deadline date for receipt of applications is <strong>February 15th<\/strong>. New students are only accepted to begin study in the\u00a0<strong>fall term only<\/strong>\u00a0and must be\u00a0<strong>full-time students<\/strong>.*<\/p>\n<p><em>*Note: Personal interviews will be conducted. If so designated, you will be contacted for a personal interview.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Graduate School recommends that you submit your application materials as far in advance as possible to the semester you plan to begin your studies to ensure a timely review of your application.<br \/>\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Degree Requirements<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\"><br \/>\nThe AuD program is a full-time, residential program spread over a four-year period (11 semesters). Students complete a series of clinical externships at the Montclair State University <strong>Center for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology<\/strong>.
