The Blockchain Academy Inc., a global finance technology education firm, announced they will be partnering with Montclair State University on a first of its kind certificate program.
“The Blockchain Academy had been looking for an academic partner for over a year,” said Bryant Nielson, Executive Director of The Blockchain Academy Inc. “We found the team at Montclair State University to be not only open to creating a set of courses that are blockchain specific, but an institution that is enthusiastic about creating an academic culture to advance both the technology as well as for its students.”
The Blockchain Academy is a technology learning and education organization that specializes in blockchain programs for corporations and developers. The company has been working with the Montclair, N.J. academic institution to create a Blockchain Certificate program, organized in three different learning tracks: Blockchain Essentials, Blockchain Financials, Blockchain Developer.
“We looked at a number of possible partners and found that The Blockchain Academy was the best fit for Montclair State University,” says Peter J. McAliney, Ph.D., Executive Director of Continuing and Professional Education. “Their curriculum has the right mix of a practitioner-academic approach suitable for professionals who want to show potential employers their commitment to understanding the fundamentals of blockchain and can hit the ground running.” McAliney continues, “Montclair State University’s goal is to equip professionals with the relevant workplace skills that will prepare them for successful 21st century careers and to enable New Jersey business community to compete in a global economy. Students completing our short duration certificate programs will have a knowledge of both the technical and applied aspects of blockchain, thus enabling them to take part in an ever-increasing component of our economy.”
The Blockchain Academy offers classes in smart contracts, trading cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, hyperledger development and more. Their instructors have more than 30 years of financial knowledge and have experience teaching both digitally and in the classroom.
In addition to the partnership with Montclair State University, the Government Blockchain Association, a U.S.-based non-profit, membership organization that connects people and organizations with blockchain based solutions, will also issue certificates for students who complete The Blockchain Academy’s courses.
