Dr. Walker holds a bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Human Services from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Walker earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania in January, 2005 and her Certification in Group Psychotherapy from the American Group Psychotherapy Association in 2013. 

Relevant Experience:
Dr. Walker completed her APA-approved pre-doctoral internship with the Department of Human Services in NJ at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains, NJ (2003-2004). Dr. Walker also worked as a graduate assistant and completed a doctoral practicum at the Lehigh University Counseling Center (2000-2004) and The VA Outpatient Hospital in Allentown, PA (2001-2002), and a master’s practicum at the Kutztown University Counseling Center (1998-1999). Dr. Walker has been an adjunct instructor at DeSales University in PA. Dr. Walker joined the CAPS staff at Montclair State University in 2005 as a staff psychologist and the group therapy coordinator.

Professional Interests:
College counseling, group psychotherapy and group dynamics, the treatment of trauma and anxiety disorders, performance enhancement, and personality assessment. Theoretical orientation: Psychodynamic and Integrative.

Research interests: 
Multicultural competence and racial identity.
