The Department of Counseling grants a Master of Arts degree, and a Doctoral degree, as well as
\nfour certificate programs.<\/p>\n

In the MA in Counseling<\/strong> program, students are prepared to work with diverse populations of all ages in the following areas: addictions counseling, community mental health counseling, school counseling and student affairs\/higher education. Program concentrations in Addictions Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling are CACREP-accredited.<\/p>\n

The department also offers a MA in Student Affairs Counseling in Higher Education<\/strong>. In addition, the department offers two post-master\u2019s programs for professional development, one leading to gaining the requirements for New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor (LAC\/LPC)<\/strong>, and the other leading directly toward New Jersey State School Counselor certification<\/strong>.
\n<\/p><\/div><\/p><\/div>
\nThe department also houses a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certificate program<\/strong> and a Student Assistance Coordinator (STAC)<\/strong> certification program. The Ph.D. program in Counseling<\/strong> is CACREP-accredited and nationally recognized for its faculty and graduates. Students are prepared to work in the field of counseling as professors, advanced clinicians, deans, or high-level student affairs professionals, and consultants (with a social justice and advocacy emphasis).<\/p>\n

Hours of Operation<\/h2>\n

Between September and May, all academic departments in the College for Community Health will be open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

During the summer months, from June through August, the University is closed on Fridays. College departments and offices are open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
