F.A.Q. s

Q: Does the Fellowship qualify for graduate credit or double as a Certification Course?
It does not. The Fellowship is designed with a flexibility towards the needs and desires of each fellow, and cohort. It is not a "course" with a set curriculum or syllabus. Upon the completion of the Fellowship, you will receive a certificate of participation. One of the many benefits of having the Fellowship not be linked with an official university course is there are no registration or tuition fees that need to be paid out of the compensation stipend.
Q: Is there a packet with additional information that I can print out?
There sure is! Information that will be provided at informational sessions at our Wipro districts are available at 2015 Wipro Fellowship Information
Q: I understand that this is a two year Fellowship. Will this take up my summer?
The Fellowship term for the next cohort will be September 2015 through August 2017. During the first year, you will begin to formulate your individual professional development growth plan and the timeline associated with that work. This means that you may want to carry out part of your plan during the summer, but you will not have to. You will have a portfolio due in August 2017.
Q: I am curious about the monthly meetings, will I need to arrange for a substitute to attend?
NO. The priority is first and foremost your teaching. We also understand that there is range of dismissal times. During the Initial meeting in June, all the fellows will be asked about his/her schedule to determine a time and day that will work for all school schedules.
Q: What is a CCLS?
The Collaborative Coaching and Learning of Science (CCLS) groups have grown out of the work of the Boston Science Partnership (www.bostonscience.org). The groups are small professional learning communities that determine their own schedules, courses of study, and the lessons that will be taped and observed. Within the first year of the Fellowship, CCLS groups will meet 4-6 times as a group and engage in deep, meaningful professional development in the areas instruction, reflective practice, adult learning and leadership. The meetings are used to develop skills that will benefit all Fellows.
